Bump Me Anytime

Zoey's POV

I left my house depressed again, thinking about what Harley had done to me. I made my way to the park in town, walking along not paying attention to anything when I thought I heard something in the bushes beside me.

It was beautiful day. The sun was shining, ducks were wading in the sparkling blue lake, dogs were enjoying the dog park, kids were laughing on the playground, tree leaves and grass were bright green, and the flowers were blooming. It was a perfect day for anything good to happen. (And he hoped something good would happen today.) He kept walking down a pathway whistling to himself, passing kids and adults along the way...

I heard the rustling again and started to panic when it seemed to be following me. I quickened my pace and thought I saw a person peek out when I walked right into someone, falling backwards on my rear. "Oh..." I said looking up at the handsome man in front of me.

He seemed startled by me running into him. His nose was a little red from it but being macho he didn't complain. Maybe I was hurt. He didn't know. So he said, "You OK Miss?" as he reached out his hand to help me up. My hand shaking, I brushed it off and took his. letting him help me up. "I thought I saw someone watching me through the bushes." I said my voice quivering a little.

"Really? I can see it scared you. I'll go take a look and see if I see anything. Stay here please" He said to me while he walked towards the bushes being careful not to pull out his gun from it's holster until the last minute or else it might scare me even more. He looked and looked around the bushes and saw no one. He did find a silver ring on the ground so he picked it up and put it into his pocket. He walked out of the bushes and over to me again and said "I didn't find anyone so don't be afraid. Maybe it was a cat or a dog." He didn't tell me about the ring or I might be even more scared then I already was.

"Oh? I know I saw somebody." I shrugged it off. "Thank you for looking. I appreciate it." I smiled, grateful that I ran into him. Literally.

He could tell I was still a little shaken so he asked, "Will you be OK or do you want me to drive or walk you home? You can never be too careful nowadays. I know you don't know me but I want you to be safe."

I blushed. "I think I'll be ok to walk home myself. Thank you, though."

"You're welcome. Have a good day miss and be careful." he waited for me to leave before he left so he could make sure I left OK.

I nodded, "Have a good day." I began walking in the direction I was going still a little shaken.

Seeing that I left OK he walked down the opposite way that I was headed, still looking back now and then to make sure I was OK until I was out of his view. It was a nice day in the park and today he met a lovely lady.

I continued on toward town then made a circle, going back home.
